Local SEO Services
in Pune
Infiscroll runs local SEO for Pune businesses from ₹8,000 a month. This page states what the Google map pack actually publishes about a business, what you have to supply, and how reviews are earned without breaking Google’s rules.
Definition
What is local SEO?
Local SEO targets the searches that carry a place or a “near me”, and it is judged on a different surface from the rest of search: the map pack and your Google Business Profile rather than the ten blue links. A clinic in Kothrud and a plumber covering three suburbs are competing in that pack, not on the same page as a national brand.
It applies to two kinds of business: those customers travel to, and those that travel to customers within a defined area. If neither describes you, the four types of work on our SEO page matter more than this one, and it is worth saying so before anyone pays for the wrong service.
The pack
What decides who appears in the map pack?
Google ranks the pack on relevance, distance and prominence, and prominence is the part a business can actually build. Distance is fixed by where the searcher stands, relevance follows the categories and services on the profile, and prominence is the accumulation of reviews, citations, mentions and a complete profile over time.
The most useful thing to know is what the pack puts on screen, because each of those fields is something to fill in rather than an abstraction. Reading the results for this search in Pune, every listed business publishes:
- A star rating and a review count: shown before anything else, and the first comparison a searcher makes.
- Years in business: displayed as a tenure badge on every entry.
- A primary category, which decides the searches the profile is eligible for at all.
- Opening hours, including “open 24 hours” and “closes soon” states.
- An address or a service area, plus a phone number tapped directly from the result.
- Service attributes such as on-site services and online appointments.
- A website link and a directions link, side by side.
One observation from reading that pack, offered as our own measurement rather than a rule: a business ranked there carried a 5.0 rating from two reviews, sitting alongside one with 507. Review volume is a lever, not the only one. Category accuracy, proximity and a complete profile decide a great deal before review counts are compared.
The work
What does the work involve?
The profile first, then consistency, then citations, then your own local pages, with reviews running throughout. The order is deliberate: citations built while the profile still carries the wrong category propagate the wrong information.
Google Business Profile optimisation sets the primary and secondary categories, the services, the hours, the service area and the photographs. NAP consistency makes the name, address and phone number identical everywhere they already appear, because conflicting listings are the most common reason a profile underperforms. Citations then add the directories that are missing. Local landing pages and near-me targeting on your own site give the searches that carry a locality somewhere relevant to land, and maps ranking work continues from there.
Businesses with more than one branch get one profile per location rather than one profile with several addresses, which is how Google expects it and the only way each branch can rank in its own area. Where a locality layer is worth building on the site, it is built from the pages people actually search for rather than from a list of every suburb in Pune.
Reviews
How do you get reviews without breaking Google’s rules?
By asking every customer at the moment the work is done, and never by paying for, incentivising or filtering reviews, which, according to Google’s Maps user-contributed content policy, is prohibited outright: the policy bars offering or accepting money in exchange for reviews. Profiles have been penalised and reviews removed for exactly that, so a campaign that buys ratings puts the asset it is meant to build at risk.
What works is unglamorous: a request that goes out consistently rather than in bursts, a direct link that removes every step between the customer and the review box, and a reply to every review including the critical ones. A reply is read by the next customer far more often than by the reviewer.
We build and run that request flow. We do not buy reviews, write them, or offer anything in exchange for them, and no agency that does should be trusted with the profile it is doing it to.
Eligibility
Can a business without a shopfront rank locally?
Yes, as a service-area business, which hides the street address and publishes the areas served instead. Consultants, trades, studios and agencies that visit clients or work remotely are eligible; the profile simply presents differently.
The trade-off is worth stating plainly: proximity still applies, so a service-area business ranks most reliably near where it is actually based, and a tightly defined area outperforms a list of every suburb within fifty kilometres. Infiscroll operates this way itself, which is why the advice here is what we do rather than what we sell.
Your side
What does Infiscroll need from you?
Four things: verification, accurate hours and service area, real photographs, and someone who replies to reviews.
Verification cannot be delegated. Google verifies the business, not the agency, so the postcard, call or video step sits with the owner and nothing else can start until it clears. Hours and service area have to be the real ones, because a profile contradicted by a locked door costs more than it earns. Photographs of the actual premises, team and work outperform stock images and are the fastest part of a profile to improve. Review replies need a person, ideally the same one each time.
Where those four are slow, the timeline moves with them: the same position set out on our process page, and the reason enquiries that arrive with a verified profile progress faster than ones that do not.
Cost
What does local SEO cost in Pune?
₹8,000 a month, with a ₹15,000 one-time setup. Those are the figures published on our pricing page, and none of the six pages ranking for this search publishes a rupee figure at all.
The setup covers the front-loaded month: building or repairing the profile, getting the categories and services right, fixing the name, address and phone number wherever they already appear, and the first pass of citations. That work does not repeat, which is why it sits outside the monthly fee rather than being averaged into it.
On timing, movement in the pack usually shows within two to three months where the profile is verified and the category is correct. It takes longer where listings conflict across directories, because those have to be corrected at the source before anything settles. Nobody can promise a position in the pack, for the same reason nobody can promise a ranking.
The engagement runs month to month, billed monthly in advance, and either side may end it on 30 days’ written notice, as published in our terms.
FAQ
Local SEO: questions answered
Seven questions come up on almost every local SEO enquiry: what the map pack shows, whether a business without a shopfront can rank, how reviews are earned, what verification involves, how long it takes, what it costs, and whether you are locked in. The answers below are the ones we give on the call.
What does the Google map pack actually show about a business?
A star rating and review count, years in business, the primary category, opening hours, an address or service area, a phone number, service attributes such as on-site services or online appointments, and links to the website and directions. Each of those is a field to complete rather than an abstraction.
Can a business without a shopfront rank locally?
Yes, as a service-area business, which hides the street address and publishes the areas served instead. Proximity still applies, so a tightly defined service area performs better than a long list of suburbs.
How do you get Google reviews without breaking the rules?
By asking every customer at the moment the work is done, with a direct link and a reply to every review. Paying for, incentivising or filtering reviews breaches Google's Business Profile review policies and puts the profile itself at risk, so we do none of it.
What do you need from me to start?
Four things: profile verification, which Google requires the owner to complete rather than the agency; accurate hours and service area; real photographs of the business; and someone who replies to reviews.
How long before I show up in the map pack?
Movement usually shows within two to three months where the profile is verified and the category is correct. It takes longer where the name, address or phone number conflict across directories, because those have to be fixed at the source first.
How much does local SEO cost in Pune?
₹8,000 a month with a ₹15,000 one-time setup. The setup covers building or repairing the profile, getting categories and services right, fixing NAP inconsistencies and the first citation pass. Front-loaded work that does not repeat.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Local SEO runs month to month, billed monthly in advance, and either side may end it on 30 days' written notice, as published in our terms.
Want customers to find you on Google Maps?
Three things make a first message useful: the business name as it appears on Google, whether the profile is already verified, and the areas you actually serve.
